This is the Maryland Minute, a short story followed by a roundup of Terps-related news.Earlier this week, the Big Ten’s coaches voted to approve the move to a 20-game conference schedule. The change will begin next season and, in addition to giving teams fewer non-conference games, creates regional rivalry series with the extra games, the league announced Thursday.

Wisconsin will celebrate the illustrious careers of its seven seniors: Tom Barlow, Mike Catalano, Alex Masbruch, Chris Mueller, Adrian Remeniuk, Mark Segbers and Philipp Schilling. Among the seven they have 26 wins, seven preseason All-Big Ten honors, four Academic All-Big Ten honors, three Big Ten Player of the Week accolades, three All-Big Ten Freshmen team honorees, two All-Big Ten second team honorees and one first-team All-Big Ten, first-team Midwest All-Region and third-team NSCAA All-American. All seven played a role in helping the Badgers to become Big Ten regular-season and tournament runner-ups in 2016.

“The biggest thing is, we see it as an opportunity for us to make plays,” linebacker Ryan Connelly said about helping out the choppy offense. “We see it as our chance to (say) ‘OK, we’ll be the ones to pull them out of this.'”
